Already on Dunlop tyres, this hugely popular one or two driver championship will comprise 100km doubleheader races for SR3 and SR8 cars.
The 2006 SR3 will incorporating a new front diffuser, sidepods and front brake cooling ducts. The SR8 has had a hugely successful first year in the Powertec Cup (which races with the Enduro Championship), and will be Radical’s star attraction. It’s Powertec built V8 engine propels the SR8 to lap times only just shy of Le Mans prototypes and the sound they make has got to be the best in British motorsport (and also falls within the 108dba limit set in stone by the Castle Combe ruling).
The championship regulations are expected to be amended to make the championship provide maximum entertainment in the “Great & British” package. Driver stops will be limited to the middle few laps of the race, ensuring that spectators can relate to the three distinct parts of the race. A first part sprint, a second driver change/stop session, followed by a sprint to the flag.
The Enduro championship winner will receive a test in Radical’s new SR9 LMP2 car as part of Radicals’ “From Novice to Le Mans” programme. |
